    DESCRIPTION:
    Driving rains. Jack-knifed
    trucks. Way too many moose
Last year, Tom Marsh bought a Suzuki
    4-door Sidekick 4x4 in
Chicago, loaded up his earthly possessions, and left for Alaska, in a convoy
with a few friends. When they got to the mountainous Al-Can Highway, Tom’s friends decided he should lead. “They envisioned having
to wait for me to catch up on every hill.” Easy enough to envision: Tom was towing a 1,500-lb trailer. “Well, surprise, surprise. I could pull all but the steepest hills in 3rd gear.”
    The
Sidekick has a powerful 16-valve engine. “We ran into rotten weather, horrible accidents and moose.” Moose? “Standing in the middle of the road, usually as we came around a sharp curve."
Fortunately, the Sidekick also has a rear-wheel anti-lock brake system. “I cannot tell you how dependable the Sidekick is. I’ll own one as long as I need a rugged vehicle. I can always be guaranteed of getting there, and enjoying the trip.” Come rain, snow, sleet. Or moose.

I was afraid to drive in the snow. Not great when you live in Alaska.” Fortunately, Carol Kincaid, who lives in Anchorage, saw a Suzuki 4-door Sidekick on display and decided to give it a try. “From the time I got behind the
wheel, it was the one for me. You sit up so high, like you have so much control.” With four-wheel drive and a 1.6 liter, 16-valve engine, it’s understandable. And her snow-o-phobia? “My Sidekick just goes right through it. I never knew what I was missing.” Apparently, husband John knew exactly what he was missing. “He wanted to drive my Sidekick from the moment I got it, but I just said, ‘no way’.” There was only one thing left for John to do. “You should have seen the neighbors’ faces when he drove up in his Sidekick,” Carol reports.
Who knew that after raising two kids, John and Carol would have twins?
